Vorticists

All known Vorticist artists will be listed here in time, whether they are happy to be labelled as Vorticists or not. I hope to make this point in each of their potted biographies. We have artists like Lewis who was the quintessential Vorticist, and in contrast an artist like Bomberg, who tried to keep his association with Vorticism generally, and Lewis in particular, to a minimum.

Blast 1 carried a list of signatures at the end of the main manifesto. So we can be sure that the following artists were happy to be considered Vorticists in May 1914. The list below is exactly how the names of the signatories appear (and in the same order):

Note that Bomberg did not sign the manifesto. Lewis, Etchells, Hamilton and Wadsworth had also been co-signatories to the 'Round Robin' letter to Fry in September 1913.
